Removing software on a Windows-based PC is straightforward. By following a few simple steps, you can uninstall any program you no longer need. The instructions below provide a general guide to the software removal process.
For Windows 10 / 11 Users:
Press the Windows logo key on your keyboard or tap the Start icon on the screen. At the Start screen, tap and hold the tile of the app you want to uninstall. There is another method that may not be immediately obvious. Swipe in from the right side of the screen and tap All settings. Select System and then tap Apps & features. You can sort the list of apps by size, name, or installation date. To uninstall an app, select it from the list and tap or click the Uninstall button.
For Windows 8 / 8.1 Users:
Open the Control Panel by swiping in from the right edge of the screen and tapping Search (If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the pointer down, and then click Search). Type Control Panel in the search box, then tap or click Control Panel. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program. Right-click the program you want to remove, then select Uninstall/Change. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process..
For Windows Vista / 7 Users:
Go to the Start Menu located at the bottom-left of your screen and select Control Panel. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program. Right-click the program you want to remove, then select Uninstall/Change. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
For Windows XP Users:
Go to the Start Menu located at the bottom-left of your screen. Select Control Panel. Click Add or Remove Programs. Select the program you want to remove, then click Remove or Change/Remove. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process
Additional Notes:
After you uninstall the software, some data such as folders or files may remain on your computer. We recommend deleting them manually if needed.
